Archival historyThe Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry began as the Child and Guidance Sub-Committee which was set up in July 1942. It was renamed the Child Psychiatry Sub-Committee in March 1943, and in 1946 became a Section which was sometimes referred to as the Children's Section in the early minutes. It was refered to as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Section from early 1980s and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Faculty from 1997.
